Pablo Picasso was born in October 25, 1881 in Spain and died in April 8, 1973 in France. Pablo Picasso was known for many influential pieces such as the one I recreated a part of the Guernica and Girl Before a Mirror. Pablo Picasso was a very gifted artist from the age of 7 when he started but when he began to grow up realism art was "too easy" for him and after he graduated from Royal Academy of San Fernando in Madrid in 1895 he started to develop and invent the style of cubism. There on, Picasso continued to thrive until death did him part.
Interest and construction:
I have always heard the name Pablo Picasso growing up because of his popularity so I was initially interested to find a piece of his. I was always into more morbid pieces of art so when I saw this piece of art by Picasso I felt as if I had to make it my final. I was interested in the proportions of the head and I wasn't intending on making it anything useful and to just make it art.
Reflection:
I am actually happy about this piece. If I could go back I would change a couple things like adding a neck and making the proportion of the head a little more accurate to the painting. Things that were a struggle for me making this piece were successfully making the shape for the head. A couple of things I did good on while making this piece was I think I did good with the teeth and the mouth. Overall, I am very proud of myself for this piece and am very happy with how it turned out.
